Timothy was anxiously awaiting his daddy's arrival, From his night shift that day.
When he heard on the news of a defeat in survival,
Sent his father's way.
Just eleven years old confused in tears,
As his mom tries to calm him down.
But the firemen confirmed the fears
That in his head jumped around.
The coffin was hollow,
At the funeral a week from that horrid day.
It was hard for Timothy to swallow,
Down the truth as the tombstone was hauled away.
But he wouldn't let it go that easy,
He had something to say.
He felt a little uneasy,
As he stepped up to the altar.
A tear rolled down as he started his speech,
Free of any faulters.
"Loved one's of my daddy, don't hide the truth from me.
I know that everythings gone badly,
But it's plain to see,
I know my dad is in heaven now,
With my Nanna and Auntie too,
But I think we should allow
God to do what he chooses to do.
I know I'm going to miss him,
And you all will as well,
But our memories will never dim,
Say to your sadness Farewell!
Please don't apologize,
I know you didn't help him die,
I just need to realize,
That this is not a game nor lie.
My daddy's gone, I understand that,
He didn't die from disease, or gat.
He went out in the worst way,
And I'll never forget that shocking day,
That fear rained down upon our souls.
Our hearts are punctured and full of holes.
I'm sorry if I made you weep,
But, I couldn't let the tombstone get buried deep,
Without telling all my tale,
Or else my tears would have run stale.
I end my words with something to remember,
How daddy died on the 11'th day of September."
Timothy walked back to his seat,
With whispers all around,
Now that his speech was complete,
He was relieved as his last tears fell to the ground.
