Who wants to think, anyway?

Poem Artwork


Before me sits a white white page
With nothing written on it.
I'd like to catch some fleeting thought
And force my brain to spawn it.


But every time I grasp at it,
It seems to grow new wings,
And all my mind can conjure up
Involves disjointed things.


And so it must be up to me
To stash the thought and flee,
Hoping some day very soon
My mind again breaks free.

Henry, this is such a good write about writer's block...it happens to all of us. I loved your voice in the poem...this reader felt as though you were speaking directly to me...loved it!

I hate writer's block; yet I try to write something every day. It helps keep the ol' noggin sharp. Try it; it works. Good write, Hank; very well penned!
