Attack of the Flying Amazon Munchkins

They’re coming, they’re coming
I can see them in the distance
They’re coming, they’re coming
We can offer no resistance.

There’s danger in the air
We haven’t got a prayer
They’re flying high up in the sky
While we can only stare.

Will they be dropping napalm
Raining missiles from the sky
Will they mow us down like circus clowns
As they come whizzing by?

Perhaps they’re flying saucers
Packing tiny little bombs
With tiny little aim sights
To fill us up with qualms.

If they’re from another planet
They could blast us with their phasers
And spill our guts upon the ground
And cook us with their lasers.

Hold on! One’s landing
Right there in our front yard
He’s dropping off a package
Could this be a canard?

It looks like Christmas wrapping
On that tiny little box
What clever little creatures
And cunning as a fox.

The card reads “Merry Christmas”
From where? The pentagon?
At the bottom of the card I see
“From your friends at Amazon!”

Probably never happen because it would be a threat to security. Kind of nice to imagine the convenience, but who would want the potential security threat. Hack into those babies, have them land someplace, then load them with some exotic biohazard. Best to leave that headache in the imagination. Good poem though Edward. Bob

Yes, very interesting take. We were all surprised to see this crab like creature in the air which was shown in news the other day.
Ya the roads are clogged with traffic, can wonder what all we will see!!

And not from, Monster.com? I can see it now. In a Jetsons future with us all flying around in our private flying vehicles with built-in anti-collusion avoidance sensors, can we be free of the occasional bird strike or God forbid, package delivering drone strike? I don't know. I think they will have to create freeways and side roads in three dimension with right and left sides to travel in for all the junk that is going to be in the air, not to avoid traffic jams like in two dimensions, but major pileups in the sky.

Back to your poem. As usual quite unique, timely, and funny. I applaud you for your creativity. I didn't know that staid old left brain economists, had any right brain creativity until I met you--kudos!

Funny - but what happens when UPS launches their own? Pre-emptive strikes, WWI style dogfights? Lasers to fry the enemy's circuitry and leave the victim flitting mindlessly about the nation's neighborhoods? And talk about opportunities for terrorists - five pounds of high-tech explosives in undetectable, unmanned, invisible, predetermined assaults would invalidate a trillion dollars worth of military, spying and 'police' defenses. Always look a gift-horse in the eyeball ... or is it eye-teeth? Oh, the humanity!

Santa's Wishes poem,
Regards the heart of every man,
Flying saucers delivering packages,
Santa's elves won't like this plan.
Change for a nation,
Came with a cost,
Amazon is now helping,
Saved what we lost.
My hope for all to see,
In this new change of delivery,
Is that they fix,
The medical website matrix,
As we wish "Merry Christmas" around the Tree!

Blessings my dear friend!

Maybe pizza or chinese food. This may not be all bad.
They can take our trash away.
These things should be able to replace about all of us.
Can they write poetry?
