Earth Day

There is a place where race, color, creed, and political views
matter not at all. Where skills and good deeds are
rewarded. Where kindness, caring, and love rank near the
top of all she can see, hear, touch, taste and feel. Yes, she is a
tireless lady, and nearly perfect in every way.

She is home to countless billions of lifeforms.
She turns night into day, and days into weeks.
She provides rivers, lakes, mountains, and oceans for us all.
She cleans our air and makes fertile grounds for our food and sustenance.

She also challenges us to leave smaller and smaller ecological footprints.
She provides ample opportunity for explorations, and the ways and
means for bringing about change.

She asks for little in return.
Cleanliness is a virtue. Practice with her.
She is a diamond in the rough. Polish her.
She is home. Don’t forget her.
Abuse her and she cries for us—in torrents.
