An unconventional poem on brotherly love.

 CONVERSTATION BETWEEN TWO BROTHERS

Winner of the Certificate of Merit and Golden Poet Award from Who’s Who in Poetry

“Dare you take your own life?

Cut your throat with a knife?

So you don’t think people matter?

All they are, are innocent specks of life.

Why does the darkness matter?

The next day will always bring light!”

He hands his brother his dinner

“What’s this?

What do you mean food on my platter?

Stupid, it only makes me look fatter.

What do you mean, will my depression ever rest?

What do you mean, be my best?

Brother, don’t you realize life is but a stupid test?

People don’t understand,

I had dreams; I had plans!

But they won’t listen,

So I take my life in my own hands.”

His brother washes the dishes

“Fine, I don’t care,

No one will miss you.

Who would dare?

But let me ask you,

Who are you to judge?

When your heart is full of hatred,

There cannot be room for love.

I beg you take this knife.

Go ahead, don’t back away,

Slit your throat,

Throw your weak life away.”

He hands his brother a razor sharp knife

With tears I his eyes and taking two glasses

of wine in his hands the brother says:

“I am just a man,

In life there are things I do not understand.

So you are right.

To all my wasted years,

Cheers!"
