I ask where, oh where, is he,
the man, the partner to share my destiny?
Please, for just a clue, I ask, I pray, I plead
To help me locate the one and only person I actually need.
Oft times, I want to stop searching, to give up, just quit believing
That there is a unique one destined to complete my very being.
'Tis true , I've looked to the sky above, and then here on the ground,
Far and near, both high and low, I have searched all around.
Does my true love dwell on a mountain high
That towers like a steeple in the blue mist of the sky?
Is he in a city bustling with hurried people who do not care?
O, give me an inkling, for I think I've looked everywhere.
I wonder, does he reside in a cabin under lofty green trees?
Or, is he where he can hear the crashing surf of the mighty sea?
As I hunger for him, does he also hunger for me
And the feast of passion I desire to share with him exclusively?
Does he ever dream of holding me in protected caresses,
Or of running his fingers through my dark, curly tresses?
Does he know that my eyes, green as meadows in Spring,
Sparkle when I daydream of his desired touch and sensitive loving?
When I cry, does he want to kiss away each shimmering, salty tear,
Want to feel my warm breath as I whisper words of love in his ear?
Does he yearn to hold my hand, to walk with me side-by-side
And desire the happiness that only our shared love can provide?
Please, just for a tiny hint, I cry, I beseech, I implore
So that the treasures of my heart upon him I might forever pour.
Amor
