Oh Lord, help me that I might see

All of the blessings you give to me.

Often, when life moves at too fast a pace,

I forget the things that bring smiles to my face.

Sometimes, when it seems the joy is all gone,

That problems are too frequent and last too long,

Open my eyes that I might see the little things,

Like the joy that a child's laughter brings;

The gentle touch of a precious loved one;

The majesty and beauty of the setting sun;

A tree full of apples, all shiny and red;

A sleepy baby, safely tucked in bed.

I am so thankful for all of these things,

And for the joy that each one brings.

Oh Lord, help me that I might see

All of the little things you give to me.

Help me count my blessings, both large and small,

But the small, they are the most important of all,

For they are there every minute of the day.

Help me recognize them, this Lord, I pray.
