Her garden is that of her heart.  Fertile is the ground there--capable of abundant growth.  Daily, she prays, hopes and wishes for a beautiful rose to grow.  Weeds have tried to take root in the fertile ground.  Some grew for a while before she recognized their true identity.  They tricked her into believing they were her long desired and precious rose.  With some, she recognized them immediately--pulling them out--tossing them aside, while others were a bit more deceitful, taking root and deceiving her for a time.  The impression they presented to her was that of a rose; so she nurtured it, cared for it and dreamed of the day that it would come into full and fragrant bloom, but to her dismay there was no fragrance there, no beautiful petals ever opened.

As time passed, the soil within her garden became richer and more fertile.  Her tears and bleeding heart were the sources of moisture that kept the ground damp and ready for growth.  On a day--like all days before--she looked searched within her garden.  There, before her eyes, grew her long-anticipated, extraordinary rose.  At once she knew this was not a weed--her spirit began singing songs of delight.  Daily, she tended the rose, nurturing it--appreciating it--adoring it--cherishing it.  She was determined that no more weeds grow within her single rose garden, for she wanted only her beloved rose to flourish there.

So, she carefully locked the gate to the fence that surrounded her garden, placed the key on a scarlet ribbon around her neck, and took her place next to her cherished and precious rose.  Only the rose would thrive there and enjoy the fertile earth and her care.  Angels in Heaven watched and smiled as she went about tenderly loving, perpetually caring for this one long-awaited, treasured blossom in her heart’s eternal garden.
