It was in an ordinary parking lot where he found

Two copper pennies there upon the ground.

He quickly turned and smiled broadly at me

When he picked up the second copper penny.

He asked if I knew that the chances were slim

That he'd find a penny for me, and one for him.

I replied that I was aware and that I knew

That what he said was certainly true ,

But since the day when our paths first met

There was no doubt our encounter was Kismet.

You see, the chance of finding each other was just as slim,

As were the odds of the two copper pennies found by him.
