25 years later, we revere the bravery of both the living and those gone, but perhaps the most telling feature of the 25 years is how radically terrorism has changed. So many different ways to frighten and wound us, if not kill, until we are now immersed in more sophisticated means. Cyber terrorism is a constant battle, and what might be coming with AI assistance is truly a fear we should have to face, but inevitably, this kind of threat will continue.

Thank you Ron for sharing this deeply-moving account of your experience of watching 9/11 unfold from a televised distance and yet absorbing the same trauma as the rest of the world's inhabitants on that horrific day.

Ironically, I've never noticed this poem before because I did not join AD until around 2004 and this poetic response was posted just over a week after the attacks. I feel like I was meant to read it on this 25th anniversary of 9/11 because of its vivid almost tangible recreation of the historic moment.

The forced rhymes seem to make a novelty out of a universally horrible event. Get rid of the rhymes and and write about what YOU really saw and felt.
