Him.
What is love? Is it the way he makes me insanely jealous when he looks at another girl? Is it how every time we talk or text, butterflies invade my stomach? Or is it how he makes me melt inside, like butter in a frying pan? If that’s a piece of love, I’ve got it. I know he likes me. I know I like him. Are we going to do anything about it? He’s not even mine… and I think I’m in love.

It all started with an IPod game application to break the ice. Funny, we were actually at an ice rink. I came to watch my friend Caitlyn skate. It was her ice show and she had another ticket, so she gave it to me. I met her through my dad. When I went to his house in Illinois he said there was a girl next door around my age. So I awkwardly walked over there and introduced myself. We got along great. As soon as Caitlyn left me with her boyfriend Jeff, and Brian and Taylor, the couple, I felt kind of like a fourth wheel because I didn’t really know any of these people. Jeff included me in their conversations as much as possible. I guess he didn’t want me feeling left out. Brian pulled out his IPod and asked everyone if they wanted to play truth or dare. We all agreed. All of the truths and the dares were a little inappropriate, so we didn’t actually do any of them.
Jeff and I started talking non-stop about random things. He called me a blonde because I always forgot what he said before. We talked about our relationships. “So...” said Jeff, “do you have a boyfriend?” I really wanted to say no. I just got out of the most boring relationship, right into another one, so it was like I didn’t have someone to call my boyfriend.
I smiled and looked into his eyes. “It’s sorta complicated.” He looked at me with a puzzled expression on his face. “How so?” he said. I explained everything, even though he was probably thinking in his mind how boring this conversation, but actually he looked into it. I told him how I and my boyfriend felt just like friends.
“Yeah, I understand,” he said, nodding. “Sometimes I feel like that with Caitlyn. Like were just friends.” I quickly turned my gaze away from the ice show. “Really?” I said. He nodded again, and Caitlyn’s mom told Jeff to be quiet because Caitlyn was about to come on. For a second there, I forgot all about Caitlyn.
Two Days later
Jeff just added me on facebook. I guess he looked for me in Caitlyn’s friends.
Four Days later
Why do I figure out everything via facebook? ‘Caitlyn is single.’ I quickly go to Jeff’s profile, and sure enough his relationship status is single too. His status reads ‘So yeah, me and Caitlyn broke up. I need to focus on track, and Caitlyn puts everything first before me.’ Of course I comment on it. I said something like “what happened??” He said he didn’t want to talk about it online, so he gave me his number to text him.
Three Days later
Jeff and I have been talking 24/7. He texts me every day, and I call him at lunch and before bed. I never talk to any of my guy friends as much as we talk. I don’t even talk to my own boyfriend this much.
2 Weeks or So later
I’m meeting Jeff today at Six Flags. We both have season passes, so we can go to Six Flags any time together I guess. He’s also bringing Brian, (the guy from ‘the couple’) Kelsea, and Manndy. Yeah, Manndy has two n’s. She hasn’t showed up yet, and it’s pouring outside. It’s Memorial Day, and we’re inside the Dark Knight, waiting to get on. Brian pulls out his IPod, and we start playing truth or dare. The ride isn’t working at the moment so we sit on the railings and play. Jeff’s gathered right next to me. About ten minutes into the game, Jeff gets a dare to lick my face. Uhh, gross. He does it anyway, and of course I’m laughing and resisting. The line starts moving again because the ride’s working again and Brian puts the game away. Jeff takes my phone out of my pocket and looks at it. “Hey, let’s take a picture!” I say ‘sure’ and Brian grabs the phone so he can take the picture. Right before the he takes the picture, Jeff licks my face. I punch in softly in the arm. After the ride, Kelsea said she got a text from Manndy, and she was here. We all walked to the Mardi Gras area. Brian jokes around with Jeff saying “Oh, Jeff, Manndy’s coming!!” Brian nudges Jeff in the arm, and Jeff smiles a little.
“There she is!” said Kelsea spotting her. From the corner comes a girl.  She has perfectly tan skin, blonde hair, and gorgeous brown eyes. Her smile is perfectly white. She hugs Jeff. They hold hands. Oh jeez, what was I thinking? He wouldn’t like me. He likes her. They hold hands the whole day. At the end me and Jeff ride a couple of rides together. I guess they’re not going out… They just like each other.
One day later (Yesterday)
Jeff and Manndy are going out, Jeff texted me about it. We call each other, like normal, instead of before bed, its 5:00. We don’t really talk about it. We just go on with our normal routines and play truth or dare over the phone. “Truth or dare” says Jeff. I say truth, and he says “Would you kiss me if I let you?” I wasn’t stunned about him flirting with me, he’s been doing it ever since he broke up with Caitlyn. It’s just weird because he has a girlfriend now. I reply truthfully because you have to tell the truth. “Yeah, I guess. Truth or Dare?” I said. He picks truth and I ask the same question. There is a long pause. “I would. But I can’t now... I have a girlfriend.” I can almost hear him frowning, as if he’s unhappy about being with Manndy.

He told me he loved me…

Excellant story Kiki you captured what it is like to be a teenager and how emotions run free when young love is in the air. this even brought back memories of my own teen years mind you...no computers, no texting, hell not even cell phones lol. Anyway keep up the good work.
