I Am Who I Am….(Perfectly Created)

     When I look in the mirror; I see hope.  I see a young man who looks at his future like it’s today and

strives to be the Man he aspires to be.  I’m the dream of a thousand slaves; the strength of the

insubordinate slave child who doesn’t understand   subjugation……

I am; who I am…..

     The truth is…I can relate to the ills that plague poor America.  I have a deep connection

With the drug dealers who sell drugs in our communities.  I’m very familiar with the “trap”, even more

familiar with the “trap mind-set.”  I know how it feels when you feel like you don’t have options.  I’ve

heard the voices of a community that tells you…”you’ll never amount to anything.”

I am; who I am….

     I’ve made those mistakes…I’ve sold cocaine in that same “trap.”  I’ve taken that same quarter kilo of

cocaine and broken all nine ounces down to dimes and twenties..I’ve seen what those

feens/crack addicts will do for a five dollar blast…I’ve watched people give me their whole checks in a

matter of hours and ended up letting them borrow twenty dollars back so they could make it

through the week.  I’ve stayed awake for two and three days straight, until my whole pack (age) was gone.

I’ve been in that situation when I thought I was taking my last breath; when they came to rob me. 

I’m no stranger to that “trap”….

I am; who I am….

     I’ve cried before God and asked him to forgive me for those things………..

     I’m not afraid to remember who I was, nor am I afraid to pursue who I aspire to be.  My past is my

Testimony, my future is my cross, and God is my only hope.

I’ve jumped out of planes more times than many people have flown, yet the highest I’ve ever been is

Meditating on what God thinks of me.

I am; who I am…

     I’m the true definition of change.  I’m the voice of a thousand hustlers who dream of freedom.  The voice of a thousand hustlers leaving their “trap”; but not in handcuffs or body bag.  I’m the fatherless son who found Love in the midst of hate.  The fatherless son who learned how to Love; in spite of….

I am; who I am…

     I’m the fruit of a million tears.  The product of a million prayers.  The fatherless son who screamed

“They Only One That Can Stop Me Is Me” in the dark hour. 

I am; who I am….

     I’m what God thinks of me.  When nobody else believes in me; God reminds me that I am; who he created.  He created me perfectly…to do what he has created for me.

God has perfectly created you, to fulfill his purpose for you.  You had to go through the things that you’ve gone through.  That’s why you are who you are today.  I’ve made a lot of mistakes.  I never thought I would be who I am today.  No; I don’t have a lot of money.  No; I’m not what many people may call successful.  I get the opportunity everyday to see people smile.  I get the opportunity everyday to meet people who are looking for change.  I get the opportunity everyday to show people hope.

Turn away from your sin…..It’s the only way you’ll make it into Heaven.

I’ll admit…it’s a whole lot easier to do wrong than it is to do right, but is it worth going to hell over it?

I sell my inspirational/motivational audio books out of my trunk for a living.  I’ve sold almost 3000 units in the past few months.  The truth is, I could make a whole lot more money selling cocaine. 

I truly trust God, and truly understand that he has perfectly created me to do what he has created for me to do.  It’s been a true blessing for me. 

Trust God.  He created you perfectly to do what he has for you.
