Well, here's another of my BRAIN-FARTS!

Positive Mental Attitude or Pre-Menstrual Syndrome? What does one have to do about the other? Let’s take a look-see.
Well, obviously, one is positive, while the other is negative. One can apply to either sex, while the other is usually confined to females. But, quite naturally, when the Venusian mate suffers from PMS, it generally rubs off on the Martian, so that both become negative, and an air of BITCHINESS prevails, right?
The following copy and paste may be helpful for the so-called weaker sex. The URL is: http://www.pms.com/treating/Default.pmsx#moodswings
“Mood Swings, Irritability and Anxiety -
While mood swings, irritability and anxiety may feel like different emotions, these premenstrual symptoms are related to changing levels of brain chemicals called endorphins. Endorphins are the “feel good” hormones that contribute to cheerful moods and make people less sensitive to pain. Scientists believe the natural ups and downs of female hormones can affect your endorphins and, in turn, can affect your moods.
So what can you do to get those endorphins pumping? Exercise can be beneficial, whether it’s a quick dash around the block, a dip in the local pool or a trip to the gym. You may feel a little sluggish when you first get going, but you’ll feel better afterwards. Soothing music, a warm bubble bath or deep breathing exercises can all help you feel more mellow and even-tempered. And there’s some truth to that old clich about laughter being the best medicine. Laughter actually can increase the level of endorphins in the brain – a great excuse to call a good friend or rent a funny movie.”
So, how can we change this negative situation into one more positive? Recognize that each and every moment of life, you have the internal ability to CHOOSE your attitude. Many years ago, the following quotation was expounded by Reverend Charles R. Swindoll: “ATTITUDE”
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gifted-ness or skill. It will make or break a company…. a church…. a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
While I have been subjected to many many items and articles, books and tapes, and seminars and discussions, about PMA through the years, this particular quote seemed to just GRAB me. Ergo, it has been copied and displayed in prominent positions, throughout my home for these many years. One is just above my computer screen, in my little office. Another is taped on my triple dresser mirror, so I can be reminded while dressing. Yet another is hanging right in my bathroom, so a brief meditation can be employed while on the THRONE! Finally, a fourth copy stares back at me, from the inside of the entrance door of my humble trailer. It is the last thing I see, whenever leaving home. ATTITUDE – choose to make it Positive!
If you have read my recent post, all about – THE SECRET – it is readily self-evident that IT also promotes the concepts of generating positive thoughts and positive energy, in order to attract LIKE returns. It is really a simple concept – PLUS BEGETS PLUS and MINUS BEGETS MINUS.
If you think of your life, and how you experience and react each day, to be like a company’s BALANCE SHEET - if your ASSETS, which are positive, EXCEED your Liabilities, which are negative, then you have a NET WORTH that is POSITIVE! You have EQUITY, just like having money in the bank, like savings for that RAINY DAY!
Between Napolean Hill and W. Clement Stone, so many PEARLS OF WISDOM were given to this world, that I often mix them up, and can’t remember which quote is attributable to whom. Which said: “In every adversity, there lies the seed of an equal or greater opportunity.”
This is an excellent example of the foregoing words on both attitude and reaction. Instead of allowing ourselves to be BEATEN DOWN, by a negative, or mishap, or error, the trick is to build a CONSCIOUS HABIT of taking time to THINK about the situation. Every cloud has a silver lining – FIND THAT OPPORTUNITY --- CONCEIVE – BELIEVE – ACHIEVE! My personal pneumonic to remember these three powerful words is – A-B-C in Reverse!
In THE SECRET, the pneumonic I use is – B-A-R… Believe – Achieve – Receive. Part of the process is VIZUALIZATION – SEE it, FEEL it, DO it, CLAIM it… build it in your mind, and THEY WILL COME!
Whistle while you work! Keep your SUNNY-SIDE UP-UP-UP! If life gives you lemons – MAKE LEMONADE!
In closing, while I plan to add more to this article at a later date, duty calls me right now, so I must leave.
Oh, remember that old saw: “to be forewarned is to be forearmed?”
TIP for Martians, leave HER alone - go directly to your CAVE – DO NOT PASS GO – DO NOT COLLECT $200.00 --and PRAYING MIGHT HELP!
