Yikes! The pocket book seem to get depleted regularly. Tires, gotta have em. Why do they make crap tires? Answer, in the olden days when you bought tires, you wanted the best. You wanted to be assured by the makers that your family would be safe if you bought the best tires so you didn't mind paying a bit more than usual. And the makers were proud of their product.Today, the makers know that you will fork over lots of moola for their crap tires because there is no longer any pride in what a company manufactures. They know you'll buy their junk on your credit card if need be and if there are issues like loss of life or limb you'll probably sue but that's ok with them because they have lots of money to pay their lawyers to keep you waiting and to blame your driving habits because their crap costs so little to make and the public in general is stupid (not you Tom) but in general anyway. And that's how modern business works. New is always better eh!!! Sorry to hear of your troubles with tires. Hugs, J'nia

Over a fifty or sixty year most recent history, this concept waned into a mass attempt at Planned Obsolescence. More to follow! Have to leave here and start writing it.

By the fact that I am reading this I can assume that Mr.Keegan never responded, exactly why our country and its long time businesses are a mess. Sadly Tom they just don't care anymore like they did in the 50's, 60's and such when they had pride and having a good reputation and name mattered. They used to want a lifetime customer, now they only care to "get you" once and take advantage! Good luck from a Michelin man :)

I have winter and summer tires by Fulda, had those in my other car too, best buy ever. over 35.000 miles on both of them and looking new. They are from Germany.
But you have also in Europe expensive Pirelli, Michelin, ect, that will set you back an indecent quantity of money and that aren't worth a s**t.

The old adage - "you get what you pay for" does not ring true with these GY EAGLE tires -

If their warranty is only 40,000 and they know they WILL wear out - then, their price should be about HALF of what you pay for tires with 60-70,000 warranty!

What a terrible experience for you Tom. And what an "eye opener" I recently had to replace my two front tires (Michelines) due to what's called weather splits. The tires had full tred but one or two blow outs were waiting to happen. I was told this is caused by mostly short short driving trips. So much for consolidating trips to town to save on gas. As high as it is the cost of gas would have been cheaper. Also they emptied all four tires and replaced the air with something but I can't remember what it's called. Life does get tedious doesn't it.

MARCIA - I’m no expert, but been driving 51 years - never heard of any ‘weather splits’ - most tires today are ‘All-Weather’ - unless you have special driving needs because of a constant cold/hot climate.

Most tires today are Steel-Belted Radials - whenever those belts FAIL - usually there is either a ‘bubble’ in the sidewall or even metal ‘needle-like’ spikes sticking out of the tire. This should not happen, especially if the treads are still in good condition, i.e. still deep.

Also, have never heard of putting anything BUT air in a tire. I’d suggest you write to MICHELIN and get an answer from the ‘horse’s mouth’ -

DEALERS may tell you anything!

The other lesson I learned is - ALWAYS get the the Road Hazard coverage - usually $20 bucks or less, per tire!

And then, and still without answers to some I believe that God did not break the covenant, they did. In addition, they worship the God of the Law. In some sense, God is like a Poem - the Author expresses a Feeling - some Get it - some Don't. Each individual Mind garners from it a different perspective. Some see the Joy, or Sadness, but miss the Irony. Some see the Rhyme, but not the Reason. Some say - "That's Great!" - Others say - "That Sucks!"

Those that do - GET IT - form a clique, and write glowing, flowering, sweet comments - those that don't want to miss the Boat. or the Bus! They Like - You, or the Poem, or the Concept, or God ... and don't want to be thrown in with the UN-believers, and take a chance on Burning in Hell - being Labeled as - Atheists, or Agnostics ... or even worse - DEVILS!

I was born and raised in - The Holy Roman CATHOLIC Church - and didn't learn until much later, that catholic merely means UNIVERSAL - It had somehow spread (probably with the Roman Army) across the globe.

Although WE saw ourselves - 'Catholics' - as the "Only True Religion" - as being the very First Christians, and all other 'sects' were merely 'off-shoots.' Ergo - WE Must Be Right - DUH!
