Now that's a rant if I ever read one! Something must've really ticked you off. I tend to agree when it comes to the actual terrorists and their followers. As for "wiping out the villages where they come from, "I think that would exacerbate and continue the problem.

The threat, while horrible when it happens, is not as great as one might assume from media accounts focusing on it. There are many other atrocities happening, and I won't go into them here, under sanction of authorities, worldwide, including in this country, killing people without their having any say in the matter.

From what I know of the Muslim community, the reason that the 90% do not speak out or challenge the rotten among them, is because most of these people live in Islamic states, where any action on their part can lead to serious consequences. That does not mean that they are not working hard behind the scenes on confronting their state religions while pretending to be humble servants. These people are more westernized, educated, and sophisticated that you would believe. But they are like the German people under Hitler's reign, afraid to do anything about atrocity publicly for fear of their lives and their families' lives. Something you and I have never experienced.

The problem is poverty, despair, and alienation. When we exclude youth from participation in society and allow them to be influenced by cults (religion is a cult) they are very easily manipulated into doing things that seem without reason. The current strategy of covertly trying to determine the leadership and eliminating them is probably the best policy. But it would be far better to eliminate the causes of disaffection. I caution the outraged. For I have found that the most strict and straight-laced friends of mine seem to have sons and daughters that are out of control and easily influenced by cults of many colors.
