War Is Not A Political Rallying Cry

For whatever reason, a new low in the slime of
politics is reached in late 2004 stretching far
beyond that when our armed forces fought in
Viet Nam. Some are trying to fight a major war on
the home front, ignoring deserved support for our
young citizens in harms way. This is not the
way of loyal and concerned citizens of the US
in second guessing our commander in chief,
cabinet members, generals, admirals, and field
commanders. What in hell do we know about
a vicious war that must be finished, must be won,
and deserves to be supported back home? It’s
a sad day in America when we worry about
what reluctant, selfish and provincial
European countries think about what we
must do in Iraq or elsewhere in the world.
By God’s mercy, we’re the leader of the world,
and rightly so, and it is our solemn duty when
our leaders choose a path, to pursue that path,
until new leaders choose another path. What is
taking place in 2004 brings a new and fateful
low point with our people, but it is not right,
and we are paying dearly for this rebellion.
A nation cannot be divided and win a conflict,
and any fool who opposes our leaders must
learn that this is war, not politics, and surely,
not a game of who is entitled to protest and
work to dismantle a government guaranteeing
that its citizens retain the right of free speech.
But speaking freely, and protesting quietly are
permitted; not law breaking, and destruction.
There is a difference between the two which
today’s loud and dangerous juvenile-citizens
don’t believe important for our nation’s future.
