According to whose account in history?

August 6, 1945

On another anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bombs on Japan, we’ll be hearing again about how sad and horrible was the US’s method of saving millions of committed lives.

Had the bomb not been developed and dropped on the two most productive industrial cities, whose people were enemies of the US, an invasion of Japan would have cost an estimated two to three million lives.

While horrible beyond human acceptance, the thousands of Japanese victims killed or maimed in the two blasts, fairly balances the scales with Imperial Japan’s years of brutality during its military conquests of nearby nations.

In 1945, Allied leaders estimated that had we invaded Japan instead, military and civilian casualties would have been over two million, including thousands of America’s young military service men. So, the means of ending this long barbaric war was justified by any method available to us.

On August 6th each year the news media pictures, stories and editorials, tell of the horror of the US using atomic bombs. We see the photos of Japanese victims, dead and alive, their scars tainting the morallity of the bomb's developers, but where are the photos and details of our veterans' graves and those still living with the horror of mortal combat with, and imprisonment by, Japan's 1940's fanatic soldiers and flyers?

For sixty-two years since rightly using our means of winning this war for meaningful peace, misinformed persons over the world accept from an unapologetic Japan, its ongoing dispicable campaign to lament, decry, and condemn atomic death at the hands of the United States of America. But where is the cry to remember history's fanatical and depraved acts of a militaristic Japan killing and raping its way conquoring all of Asia... before we dropped the bomb on August 6,1945?
