About the author Louise Worthington and her new release coming April 2022.

1. To begin with why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself – where were you born? Raised? Schooled?
I am the youngest of three children, with two sisters. When we were growing up we typically fell in and out, until we realized how lucky we are to have each other.
I was born and went to school in rural Cheshire and went to the University of Essex then the University of Loughborough. My first job as an English teacher was at a girls’ boarding and day school in Staffordshire.
I met my husband Nigel when I was in my late twenties. We have one daughter, and we are very settled in Shropshire. It’s an unspoilt county of natural beauty.
2. What did you want to be when you were eighteen and why?
I wanted to be a vet because I love animals, but I was hopeless at science. I remember talking to the careers advisor at school about being a journalist, but I didn’t really have a clue what I wanted to do. I was writing stories by then, but only for me to read. It took many years to get the confidence to submit to publications and publishers.
3. Please tell us about your latest novel!
Dr Emma-Jane Glass is a qualified clinical psychologist with her own practice in Shrewsbury. She has an article published about maternal filicide (a mother murders their child or children) in an academic journal and is subsequently interviewed on local radio about her sympathetic standpoint. The publicity generates unwanted attention from a deranged patient who abducts her. She thinks she falls her him and begins to question her original standpoint and her own mind.
4. What do you hope people take away with them after reading your work?
I hope they will have enjoyed the story and been gripped from beginning to end. If I can go further and make them think, and look at something in a different way … even better.
