Ukraine is the Slavic mother country. Russia, her son, is raping and murdering her!
I was notified by the Facebook censors in April that I would be punished for a hyperbolic comment I made in response to an old friend's comment on a post somewhere that the United Nations had not fulfilled its main purpose: the defense of nations such as Ukraine from the homicidal outrages of the likes of Russia.
“The fact that the Russian ambassador is lying about the outrage," I said, "is an admission of crimes against humanity, therefore the lie is a guilty plea. No further trial is needed. He should be hanged before the assembly until dead."
Mark Zuckerberg apparently feared that if such comments as mine went unpunished on Facebook, the lying ambassador might be pulled from his seat by Security Council members--other than China's ambassador--and duly hung if not beaten to death with shoes. Or, the public itself might accomplish the feat after rioting and breaking into the chamber. Therefore my “group posts” were relegated to some sort of bottomless pit for thirty days to teach me a lesson.
I did not realize my comment had been made in a group, nor did I know Facebook gives favored people priority in its “Feed.” At least my account did not receive the death penalty. Who could live without Facebook? Well, maybe far too many people live there instead of the real world.
Yes, the Russian ambassador is guilty as hell by his own admission by lying. On the other hand, he might have argued that the apocalyptic destruction of Ukraine, the killing of thousands of men, women and children, and the dislocation of millions of people is not a crime against humanity because humans are essentially criminals therefore must be terrified into obedience.
"Spare the rod, spoil the child," he might say. "Just witness what is happening in the West!"
Human animals are, because of their intelligence, far more depraved than subhuman beasts therefor must be terrified into obedience. As for organized terrorism, no less than Moses sanctified the traditional terrorism upon advice of God before the Chosen People occupied the Promised Land. Scribblers naturally make a nice distinction between civilians and militants after the wars are over.
At the very least, a population must be terrorized to undermine its morale and inculcate obedience. That's why soldiers kill mothers in front of their children and tell them they had better obey their fatherland. Authoritarianism is nothing new. Do not blame it on oriental despotism. The head man everywhere from time immemorial had the right to kill disobedient subordinates including women and children for the sake of good hierarchical order, that being the natural order of human kind.
Besides, a war is an engagement between nations, not merely armies. Morals are mere abstractions when it comes to war. And mind you that this is not really a war; it is Mother Russia's campaign to liberate Little Russia from Nazis. Anyway, the causes of war are legion, a subject to be explained by social-psychologists.
So the ambassador did not have to lie through his teeth as he was trained to do. Still, one can imagine the vehement objections.
First of all, Ukraine is Mother Russia, not disobedient Little Russia.
When the Mongols invaded, some of her children turned tail and ran off from Kiev, a city as fine as any in Europe, to Moscow, a backwater town where they cultivated the totalitarian methods of the Mongol khans, And now their descendants are presently engaged in matricide after raping their Ukrainian mother, Mother Russian, in front of her children.
Yes, speaking of der Fuhrerprinzip, Hitler the Wolf admittedly had his 'Werewolf' headquarters in Ukraine, and yes, the Azov Regiment, whose insignia crosses the Z, has its Nazi leanings today, but sometimes we must engage the devil himself if necessary to save our moms and sisters not to mention our own hides regardless of the race or creeds of everyone involved. Again, the principle of authoritarianism is obviously not unique to East or West when push comes to shove, so consider that when talking about the so-called clash of civilizations.
Unfortunately, my friend, who is an actor, pacifist and nature lover, unfriended me after I suggested the hanging of the Russian ambassador at the UN, and I am blocked from contacting him with my sympathies. I admit to being politically incorrect. He may have taken my words literally, misunderstanding my hyperbole.
He was raised in communist Yugoslavia, by the way, where he recited revolutionary poetry to large crowds. But there was no career in revolutionary poetry when the USSR dissolved. He came to New York City, where he attended university and aspired to be an actor. We were both students of the great Russian-American ballerina and actress Katherine Sergava. My roommate was a Russian composer and pacifist, Mark Barenboim, who defected from the USSR. I was a pacifist until the invasion of Ukraine. Sometimes war must be made for peace, as absurd as that may seem. There can be no permanent peace without justice.

It is strange that sometimes those who claim to be advocates for freedom of speech, will still draw the line when it comes to freedom that affects their sensibility.
And thank you for some of the blowback I've been getting about Ukraine and its small but effective, Nazi element. And certainly, if he is truly lying about UN defined criminal warfare and genocide, the Russian Ambassador to the Security Council should not only resign or be banished. Hanged by satirical comment. And eventually, come to trial at an international court for war crimes.
NATO, and the US, I have been tiptoeing because, their entry into the war would bring nuclear strikes much closer to reality. The US committed a war crime by dropping two nukes on Japan when they couldn't retaliate like we did for December 7, 1941.
Incidentally, have you noted that Putin is now whining, "foul," over the rest of the world providing superior defense weapons. He will really wine when missiles start hitting Moscow like they've been hitting Keiv.
