I changed the focus of my questions and watched different types of responses unfold.

At the time I asked the question that led to the Optimal Series I had read a few books and articles on quantum theory but had not yet consciously practiced the information I read. However, looking at my questions today, it is easy for me to see I had “sent” my word out before me to create a path for my upcoming experiences. The question was simple, having come after I really heard a conversation in the emergency room. The emergency room personnel asked the patient to tell her on a scale of one to ten how she rated her pain. Thinking about this question later I realized the focus was on the “problem” keeping this old information active within the body system of the patient and in the mental drama of all the persons hearing the question and the response. Suddenly a different question came to mind, asking, “I wonder what would happen if I asked about the rating or degree of wellness”. So I asked the question, “On a scale of one to twelve, what is your degree of wellness?” This question caused me to look for images and instances of wellness. Not only did I ask about how I rated wellness, I also asked about degrees of success, competence, effectiveness and other qualities I wanted to express. In my first significant application of this process, which I named OptiScal, I focused on my capacity to handle a technical task well beyond my pay grade. Just a little of how OptiScal works: I asked to see an image that signified my level of competence in handling the technical task. Immediately I saw the image of a number in my mind's eye. Yes, the first number was low – such as at the number three. So I asked what my situation with the task would look like if I saw the number six. I saw the number six and realized I had increased my competence, but not to the level I wanted. Then I asked to see my situation with the task if my competence level was at 10 or greater. I liked the feeling that came with seeing the rating of ten or greater. Feeling competent at “10” I approached the task and handled it with great ease, getting the results I wanted. I tested the dynamics of OptiScal with others who were willing to try it and saw the delight in their eyes when they obtained chosen outcomes. Books in the Optimal Series focus on a process to increase your capacity to function in practical situations through the use of imaginal actions. Seeing an image in the mind's eye is an imaginal action. For more details about the books go to Indoma s Place. But with or without the books, ask the question that allows you to see images that reflect levels of solutions or chosen outcomes – the optimal and notice where you move your attention.
