I am continually amazed at things that get my attention. Working in the power of consciousness I found I had to be clear on who I think I am being and the extent to which I buy into the idea of infinite possibilities.

Several weeks ago I noticed great changes in my surroundings after I had filled the atmosphere with the energy and light of love and appreciation. The people around me were increasingly more affectionate with each other – and yes I got into that sweetness too. Folks in my space were so much more attentive and sensitive to each other’s needs and interests. At least this is what I saw. Then the atmosphere changed. Up came arguments again. I realize this is normal in families – people just do not always see eye-to-eye. And folks constantly try to get others to buy into what they are saying, or at least to see their points. I realized I was raising questions about generations of programming and beliefs and how the atmosphere allows all of us to go back to our old ways. I had already missioned myself to maintain the atmosphere in the energy and light of love and appreciation – this elevated emotion primarily serves as a base atmosphere for other energies. I was working on methods to operate from the power of consciousness and give expression to more and more possibilities. So when I saw that change in the atmosphere, my attention moved to a lower place – almost feeling helpless. I had learned long ago to examine my reactions when things turned in ways I had not intended. I realize it might seem a bit much to think I could maintain a perpetual atmosphere of love and appreciation. Some might say that's not human and that's not how the real world works. Doesn’t this sound like old programming, limiting what I am able to do and be? So of course I ask the question, Why not? Why not be in an atmosphere filled with perpetual and ongoing gratitude? Why not be in an atmosphere where we are constantly making special arrangements to benefit each other and constantly give special attention one to another? Okay somehow I had slipped. I wanted to see love and appreciation being expressed around me, and here I saw fussing and fighting. I saw folks insisting that they were right and the others were wrong. These persons were not giving each other the kind of compassionate attention I had seen them display just hours earlier. And here I was, fretting about the whole thing. Observing my reactions I looked at what was going on around me and saw one message flashing before me, alerting me to check something. What was I to check? The persistent message finally got through. Simply, was I being the love and appreciation I wanted to experience? I did not have to be a rocket scientist to realize my anxiousness was the driving energy behind the changes I had seen in the atmosphere. I was being anxious when I wanted to see love and appreciation being expressed around me. I looked beyond the argument that got my attention and saw I had been anxious about something totally unrelated to the couple. I had not maintained the atmosphere with the energy and light of love and appreciation. After raising questions about being realistic, I turned back to the power of consciousness, which overrides the issues. The question is always, “What is the consciousness?” How could I possibly be anxious when I know I am the power of consciousness? How could I be anxious when I know I have infinite possibilities available to me?
