Neville teaches in the lecture “You Can Forgive Sin” that no power in this world can stop you from realizing your desire. In clarifying his position, he encourages you to remain faithful to your vision as though it were true .
How do you like the idea of knowing no power in this world could stop you from realizing you already have your desire fulfilled? No person can stop you! No government can stop you! No legal authority can stop you! If you are wondering about this – how could it be so, do a little work so this concept represents one of your chosen possibilities. I have noticed what seems an innate quality in everyone – not one single person looks forward to having some other person be in control over him or her. This protest starts early. Even an infant moves his mouth away when his mom is putting something into his mouth he does not want. That’s his way of saying I want control and power over myself. However, you can look around and see areas of your life where you were programmed to believe persons other than yourself should exercise power over you.
So if you are still shackled by this phenomenon, roll it around in your mind – that no power in this world could stop you from experiencing your desire – until this is the way you believe. It does not matter what your desire is, remind yourself day and night, saying, “No power can stop me from realizing my desire fulfilled!” Rearrange the drama of your mind so it reflects your position – that no power in this world can stop you from having or being your desire fulfilled.
To manage your psychological drama to solidify the fact that no power can stop you, take some imaginal action and play the parts on the stage of your mind. Repeatedly speak the statement and do so with authority. Say it and see images in your mind's eye where someone or some authority tried to stop you. Tell them firmly, saying “You are not the power over me”. Then see them walk away defeated. As they walk away, see images reflecting your fulfilled desire all around you. See everything in place representing your desire fulfilled. In other words, you know your desire is fulfilled because you see evidence of the details in your mind's eye. Because the details are right there in front of you, go ahead and handle the details. Do something with the details or because of the details. For any category of your experience, test it out. Let’s say your desire is related to your job.
Thinking about your job, what do you desire? Do you desire a new position? Do you desire a 1000 percent raise? Do you desire more paid vacation days? These are yours and no power in this world could stop you from having these things if… Yes, the “if” is in the picture – if you imagine yourself into a new position with a 1000 percent raise and/or more paid vacation days and program your mind to view yourself from this perspective day in and day out, no power in this world could stop you from having your job in the way you chose to have it.
If it’s not a job you desire, consider whatever you desire and play its details out in your mind until it is your inner life experience. Your desire might be financial or relational. It might be for a loved one or it could be something about your health. Whatever your desire, test it out with a commitment to experience it imaginally until you know it is a done deal.
Look at a situation you had been dealing with. Identify new information reflecting possibilities you had not previously considered. Experiment with this new information by converting it to a new desire. Build for yourself a new inner life experience to reflect its fulfillment. Notice how you feel about yourself at every step along the way.
