After making it through horrendous L.A. traffic and two overly friendly guard dogs, we finally met the man himself. Occupying an unassuming California bungalow, Kreuger has assembled the world’s largest collection of materials and recordings of musical theatre and motion pictures. A walking encyclopedia on the subject, Kreuger glowed with enthusiasm while giving us the royal tour.
A frequent radio and television guest and lecturer, Kreuger has received two Grammy nominations for best album notes and is the author of The Movie Musical from Vitaphone to 42nd Street and Show Boat: The Story of a Classic American Musical.
