To make it more difficult the new offering includes a plane crash in the Pacific Ocean. The survivors find themselves in the closed-in airplane’s tail. And to make matters worse, they must get out before the air supply is gone. But sharks are waiting for them.
Sharks and water and plane, Oh My!
A few survivors sure do try.
Their bravery seems one to cheer.
But this film isn’t JAWS, my dear.
Which to choose, sharks or a closed space?
Not as much action or fast pace.
Still NO WAY UP has its film chills.
Entertainment it truly fills.
All actors seem real in their parts
.which means they know and bring the arts.
Though low budget, the film grabbed me.
I hope it’s one you’ll like to see.
More about the survivors. The ones who stand out include Ava (Sophie McIntosh), the governor of California’s daughter. She was planning on a vacation in Cabo San Lucas and has brought along her bodyguard (Colm Meaney). She wants to have fun with her boyfriend (Jeremias Amoore). Plus his friend Kyle (Will Attenborough) has come along too. Among the other survivors is a dear grandmother (Phyllis Logan) who wants to protect her granddaughter (Grace Netti).
More about the sharks. These creatures of the sea look real!!! Congratulations to the shark makers. They scared me every time one turned up. And several began to do just that.
More about the plane. I am afraid to fly. The crash shown here made me feel like I was on the airplane suffering along with its passengers.
Kudos to director Claudio Fah (TV’s Wilder), debut writer Andy Mayson, cinematographer Andrew Rodger (Hard and Soft) and the rest of the crew for giving us a shark-and-survival movie that even tugs at your heart.

I also recently have the opportunity to watch the movie, USS Indianapolis, for free. I haven't watched it because I believe I saw the horrific story before. But I think I will watch that real event with real shark attacks and real suffering before I will watch this fictional attempt at shocking summer audiences into going to the theater hoping to see Jaws again.
