BEAN, THE MOVIE (1997). This may be a stretch, but some viewers could never again be serious while cooking a turkey after watching Rowan Atkinson as klutzy Mr. Bean in this fun comedy. Because the film opened a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, its timing couldn’t have been much better.
SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK (2012). An important dance competition on Christmas Eve features two misfits played superbly by Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence (who won an Oscar for her performance).
TRAPPED IN PARADISE (1994). This rowdy comedy highlights how kindness can change even the most highly motivated robbers portrayed by Nicolas Cage, Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz. Will they rob the town’s bank in spite of the Christmas spirit all around them?
DIE HARD (1988). In this action gem just try NOT to remember it’s Christmas as Bruce Willis struggles to save a huge building and the people in it. And, oh yes, one of that crowd includes his wife!
WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1992). Do the two title characters played by Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan reunite during a New Year's celebration? Everyone knows the answer to that question.
