In this case, it’s not hard to get on Statham’s side right away because a senior citizen (Phyllicia Rashad/Creed) loses everything to a scam while at her laptop. She happens to be the only friend of her isolated beekeeper, Adam Clay, portrayed by Statham. Little does she know that this quiet man is much more than a beekeeper.

An outrageous action movie

totally entertained who? Me!

A beekeeper jumps off the screen

as Jason Statham fights the mean.

His character goes on rampage

and nothing seems to calm his rage.

His one friend lost everything

from a ruthless computer ring.

I didn’t expect humor here.

“To bee or not to bee” I fear.

Fun to see a film go all out.

And with Statham, I always shout.

Villains here want to gouge the elderly out of their money and get away without being caught. The evildoers even cheer as they do their dastardly deeds. Three actors give excellent performances in these roles. I wanted to BOO out loud at them. David Witts (TV’s Legacy) plays the wildly corrupt online group leader; Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) turns into the addict techie; and Jeremy Irons (House of Gucci) portrays the horrified security chief. They all deserve recognition for their work in The Beekeeper.      

While watching this action thriller we learn about the importance of bees plus why the FBI and high ranking government officials are involved with a secret group called “The Beekeepers” and why.  

Outlandish as it is, The Beekeeper kept my interest from beginning to end. Thanks to director David Ayer (Suicide Squad), writer Kurt Wimmer (Equilibruim), the entire cast, crew and Jason Statham for this outrageous but entertaining motion picture experience.
