On Truth and Absolutes - Quotes and Comments

On Religions (Christianity being but one of many)

To the first, the conclusion is inevitable: religion is an absolute. As an absolute, it will always fail to produce its intended fruit within an ever-changing (non-absolute) environment. Instead of the promised good life, it generates boredom, fear, anger, hate, bigotry, jealousy and often, genocide. Its adherents long for the temporal freedom to sin they see in those not of their belief and silently seethe in rage within their belief prison. They wait impatiently for the command from their leaders to go into the world to rape, pillage, terrorize and destroy IN THE NAME OF GOD when all evil is permitted and instantly forgiven as long as the divine mandate is carried out. Or they strike at the world through the power of money, availing themselves of "divine blessings" to make up for their reluctant avoidance of more delectable evils their variegated religions do not permit. Religion generates ever-rising tides of oppression and bloodshed because it is strictly dictatorial - an Absolute Power.
To the second, truth as explained cannot be an absolute. There is no absolute truth, except in the divine test tube. Earth has failed in that description, though Eden was to be such a demonstration of Absolute Truth. Adam and Eve took care of that problem - the first step in human spiritual evolution away from total slavery to Time Lords and self-styled absolute Guardians. They paid a heavy price for their short-lived freedom, but even if they died, their effort bore fruit. Today we can begin to see a new future outside temporal control, if we dare. Today, the Guardians are far away and weak, perhaps even dis-empowered and Earthians only continue to serve them in fear of them (small effect) and in fear of an uncertain future (large effect).
Note that I have left "God" out of this discussion. I will take the position that "God" is a collective of individual entities such as are found in any hierarchy, and that such a hierarchy works through a complex web of manifold bureaucracies. I posit that "God" is not in control of those specific bureaucracies that uphold and maintain man's multi-religious enterprises. If there is a god at the top of the pyramid of power, he's just a CEO. Sometimes (as we must assume from "biblical" times) he steps down from his ivory tower and descends to the level of physical worlds. Such events must be classified as extremely rare and today non-existent.
Most "close encounters of the divine kind" are with representatives of the hierarchy, individuals chosen and sent as ambassadors or "way showers" to mankind by the heavenly or "divine" bureaucracy. The "God" as single male entity, source of all life, all knowing and all powerful, without any need of supporting "staff" as generally and badly portrayed by Religion, and believed in loosely by most Earthians to this day, does not exist. (Yeah, quite a sentence that!)
Such an entity could never have created conditions that led to the problems below, nor give rise to attempted solutions that mis-fired so dramatically - and continue to do so.
Examples of blatant divine bureaucratic failures (from biblical sources):
The global flood (ostensibly sent to destroy evil on earth): Millions drowned, along with billions of animals. Result: starving survivors become flesh-eaters and man's lifespan is drastically shortened; evil returns with a vengeance upon the planet. Noah's son, dark-skinned Ham, is cursed by the father for making fun of his inebriated state. He becomes father to a dark-skinned race that inhabits Cush (Ethiopia?) and spreads from northwestern Africa to southwestern Asia. From the curse came the Aryan belief that God gave a mandate, a right, to enslave the people of Cush, the Hamites or black skinned peoples. Automatic slavery based on skin colour.
Babel: the Elohim (high members of divine council hierarchy) observe man building a launching tower for space craft. Fear fills the divine council that man is about to leave earth and challenge them on their own turf. They condemn Earthian humanity to a Babel of languages. Result: dis-empowerment of the race as a whole. Mistrust, mis-understanding and wars. No more "danger" that man may establish an efficient and benevolent world government. The people scatter "over the face of the whole earth" and become strangers and enemies of one-another as races and nations. The curse lives on.
Sodom and Gomorrah: agents of the divine council sent to warn the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah they were to be annihilated for their "sins." There is no warning. The agents instruct orbiting spacecraft to nuke those cities after removing Abraham's nephew, Lot. Result: The rescued types no better in acts and judgment than those destroyed. Lot's daughters have incestuous relations with their father. Both daughters get pregnant and their sons become the fathers of Moab and Ammon - peoples whom the Lord God Jehovah (YHWH) would later instruct Moses and Joshua to destroy to the last.
Calling Moses: divine council uses Moses to get even with the "heretic" powers of Egypt and Canaan (Palestine). Result: Senseless slaughter. Millions of deaths. Slavery and endless enmity that causes wars unto the present day. Hebrews become genocidal maniacs and total oppressors and their descendants, the Jews, bear global judgment to this day. Endless persecution of innocent Jews in their many diasporas. Israel today, a violently oppressive little dictatorship. A military whore at the beck and call of western oil interests and America. A nation that will once more be over-run and utterly destroyed when oil interests change hands or dissolve and American military power removes from the region never to return.
Final act of desperation: "God Himself" sends His Son to intervene in human affairs in a last-ditch effort to set up a counter system to the existing horror of oppression, slavery and bloodshed unleashed upon the planet by the super-powers of the day. Result: Another great disaster. The Son is crucified. A member of the inner group is unjustly accused of betrayal. The bureaucracy undermines the Son's work by sending a real "Judas" spy called Paul of Tarsus into the organization to systematically destroy the original intent of the movement. Growth of world's largest and most oppressive ever organization: Christianity, whose leaders eventually become both Pope and Roman "Caesar" in all but name and make dying Rome a Christian empire. The curse of this Power remains and can be seen primarily in its fundamental form as adjunct of American military and corporate power, and global "Roman" Catholicism.

It is SALVATION that mankind needs, and that is what God offers. Unfortunately, we as human beings all too often allows our own will to interfere with the Master plan, setting up man-made concepts, ideals and tenets, thereby turning God's intent (Salvation) into man's program (religion).
