The Mind Game - The Only Game

[voice from the Other Side - Sha'Tara]

For anyone seeking answers to the deepest questions (or I should say, engaging the deepest quests) it is inevitable that as the body ages, the mind becomes excited about its coming release from physical captivity.  It expands exponentially - probes, images, posits possibility upon possibility.  Prepares itself for a major lift and a major shift.

It is even more so for those who have experienced that "in-between" state most of their lives.  We are fully aware that life is an endless search, goal to goal, passion to passion, each incarnation a jump to another stone in a flowing stream of infinite possibilities.   Often you miss and get wet, or fall in entirely and go for an unexpected swim until another place presents itself where you can pull yourself out, stand in the sun for a bit, dry yourself off... and continue the game.

There are worlds where the "game" is severely hamstrung and often not even permitted.  Where an individual is boxed in by traditions, belief systems, social mores, expectations and "leaders" who lead simply because they have the power to prevent others from flying free.  So what to do?  You play the game in your mind and somehow manage to hide this by letting "them" control your body.  You become two entities, the real one: the free and the sacrificial "partial": the slave.  The free must learn to fly.  The slave must prepare to die.

"Patricia Luisa Vasquez existed in a bubble of joy, independent of all that had gone before, not caring what would come after.  She had never experienced anything like it.  It had neither confidence nor euphoria in its character; it simply was an appreciation of all she had experienced, and would experience, a fulfillment of the compulsion she had had since childhood not to be normal.  Not to live a normal existence, but to subject herself to the most extraordinary experiences she could possibly have.  The world being what it was, she had long since decided she would have to create those extraordinary conditions in her head.  And then, the world turned upon itself.  The universes had twisted in some incomprehensible fashion and delivered to her an experience drawn from the visions in her head, made even more wonderfully strange and outré by history, by the actions of tens of billions of people, and who could tell how many non-humans?

Her moment was not solipsistic; she did not feel in the least isolated or unique.  But she realized how extraordinary her life was.  She had already fulfilled her wildest and most deeply held dreams."

(excerpt from "Eon" by Greg Bear - Tor books)

In anticipation of my own exit (however temporary) from this world I thought it wise recently to do a personal analysis of my "condition" as regards my place here.  To determine how much of "me" still resides here, on earth and how much has already gone "mind" to explore a way to open my own gate accessing the stacked worlds and proceed with relative certainty to the next level in the game.  According to my "calculations" about ten percent of "me" remains in interaction with this planet's life.  That's much more than needed to function "normally" here so I must continue to pare down.  Since all I can take with me is what I've stored in my mind, it really is time to "lighten up."

If Earth people understood the process of detachment they could change the nature of their world overnight - there are enough of them to do that.  They would realize how wasteful (of material resources and time) their lives are and see how that waste translates instantly into global misery for all.  If Earthians made the effort to know where they are going once they leave here, they would know what it means to be human and would no longer suffer fools to lord it over them with lies while keeping them in darkness about the real goings-on.

Remember that old classic movie, "It's a Wonderful Life"?  George Bailey is the good guy and Mr. Potter is the old miser whose sole pleasure lies in obstructing the flow of goodness and making everyone else's life miserable.  When George loses his identity -"You've never been born, George!" - Bedford Falls becomes Pottersville.  A sordid town full of vice and misery.  Violence and fear are everywhere.  As is "Homeland Security."

Hasn't anyone noticed that this is precisely what the Corporations with their New World Order are doing to the planet?  That the George Bailey's (those who bring out the best in others) have been all but silenced?  That consumerism is showing its true colors as a deadly vice turning the planet into a war zone, an environmental disaster, a victim of a depraved "Babylon" of whom it is written:

"Fallen is Babylon the Great!  She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable [thing].  For the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries.  The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries." (Revelation 18: 2-3)

The same passage of "Scripture" exhorts people to "come out of her" before they too are crushed in her fall.  That message never goes away because people, having recovered from some catastrophe or some war, simply return to doing the very same things that caused the "fall."  So every recovery leads to downfall and when some recovery has reached its peak of pleasure and madness (witness, for example the end of the roaring 20's in October of 1929 and recovery from the subsequent  depression dependent on a world wide war... Is that how it must be?  Who wrote THAT law?  Well, we did... and we continue to obey our own folly.

Sometimes I wonder if only some lonely voice "from the Other Side" can actually verbalize the above knowing the times, seeing their truth as explicitly expressed in planetary signs - a voice that was of this world but is no longer.  As much as there is excitement (for myself) in knowing the future and going for it, there is sorrow for this present as it presents itself.  That sorrow is not attachment, but for a dream unfulfilled that has yet to be .  It is a sorrow that follows one beyond this world and must, of necessity, color what one does hence.

Why is it one must transcend this world to see it for what it really is?  Rhetorical question, I suppose.

What a fascinating article, Reg!! Thanks so so much for sharing it! There is so much about which to think while reading it, and to consider afterward. The mind is a marvelous thing, and most of us use 10% or less of its potential. The possibilities are staggering!

What a masterful piece of writing!

We're all on this earth for a reason, and it's up to each individual to determine why. God gave us a mind and gave us choices. Can you imagine how he's laughing with all our blundering!!!!

I especially liked that statement: "We are fully aware that life is an endless search, goal to goal, passion to passion, each incarnation a jump to another stone in a flowing stream of infinite possibilities." This is so true.

Your reference to "detachment" made me really think about it. Wouldn't it be a great way to stop worrying about insignificant things that rob us of our peace of mind? (However, I'm afraid detachment would mean a loss of conscience, and might promote a loss of goals or drives to better oneself.) Yet, selective detachment is certainly a goal worth striving.

Justice is supposed to be the balacing scales, but not a cure, and man is/or capable of being his own worst enemy.

Bravo, Regis! You've done it again.

[Why is it one must transcend this world to see it for what it really is?]

Isn't it true that one must distance oneself from ANYTHING in order to see it clearly? (Every day older I get, the more true this becomes! Soon my arms won't be long enough. Then how shall I see at all???) :L)

Back to my point: Most of us are bogged down by the materialistic ... overly involved in the "stuff," the "bits and pieces," the THINGS of this world that we can't see beyond all of that to what's real and what matters. Society has programmed us to need "more" and "bigger" and "better," and we can't rise high enough above those things to attain the distance needed for a clear picture.

Perhaps that's why another scripture tells us to "lay aside every weight." Only then can we see what we're meant to see.

Reg, You are so on my Wavelength right now! This is a beautifully written article and you've explained the process of co-creation most articulately. Kudos! Nicki

Whatever happened, it happened for good.
Whatever is happening, is happening for good.
Whatever that will happen, it will be for good.
What have you lost for which you cry?
What did you bring with you, which you have lost?
What did you produce, which has been destroyed?
You did not bring anything when you were born.
Whatever you have, you have received from Him.
Whatever you will give, you will give to Him.
You came empty handed and you will go the same way
Whatever is yours today was somebody else’s yesterday and will be somebody else’s tomorrow.
Change is the law of the universe.

1. I enjoy these Sha Tara pieces.
2. Much to consider, i enjoy that it allows me to think and evaluate my own perspective of "the Game", the play, or the illusion. The hope is as more and more humans ask and explore answers to these questions, the more it becomes created in the mass consciousness and change begins.

This arrticle raises some questions that many ask at some point in a lifetime. The minister of my church once said, "Even if there is no God [other side], I can think of no better way to live than that of a Christian." So, I think, in a sense, selecting a philosophy, hopefully a positive one, helps us transcend the world as it is. Interesting write. R

Once again you have come up with mind boggling questions. Man interprets, the world as he sees it, sometimes overlooking the obvious for various reasons. Objectivity can be hard to fathom. Would we find the answers on the other side??? Only God knows......M

I like articles that make me think. You have certainly met that criteria with this article.

It seems to me that your "rhetorical question" is one that begs objectivity from "attached" folks, folks with axes to grind. It's possible to get that from them but it is often a compartmentalized truth. There are probably areas in each of our lives that it is difficult or impossible for us to be objective about. Thus a CEO of an air polluting company may be immovable on that issue, yet may very well make positive contributions to water purity. And so forth ... True objectivity may be that Utopian world we often hear about.

Leland

REG -

You once told me that you valued my opinion ( I know not why ) - THIS is the most intelligent synopsis of man's lifelong question: "Why am I here?" or "What is the purpose of Life"

Your presentation, observations, and conclusion, ALL - confront "free-thinkers" to hopefully realize that in the final analysis, SPIRITUALITY is what it is ALL ABOUT!

It is not the TRIP that matters, nor the FINAL DESTINATION --- it is the PROCESS and METHOD by which we hopefully, LEARN and GROW -- and SHARE PEACE and LOVE!

Your question is not rhetorical, THE QUEST, in and of itself, can only be achieved via said TRANSCENDING! My daughter, a Yoga instructor, and meditation person, calls it --- SIMPLIFY !!! Get rid of the 'baggage' and materialistic 'trappings.'

In closing, here's an afterthought - ( I haven't yet written or posted the topic, but will shortly ) --- WHAT IF -- U.F.O.'s are NOT ALIENS, BUT TIME TRAVELERS? FUTURE GENERATIONS TRYING TO COME BACK, EXPERIMENT, AND 'FIX' WHAT WE SCREWED UP?

SHADES OF 'TERMINATOR' ??? PEACE! Tom.

You say it very well. Reminds me of "Henry Higgins" in My Fair Lady, saying "Why don't they clean up the mess inside?"

Some will get it and those are the ones who will prosper in knowledge.

Awesome write, my good friend Regis. This is one I will print out and read several more times, to get the most out of 'detachment'. The magic is happening NOW-- let go of the old stuff we thought we always knew, and create that special place we've always thought existed but didn't know where or how to get there.

This write is also poignant; strikes right to the thinking heart.
