Super Moon

The super-moon's appearance last night around 11.30 p.m. was a non-event for me. I go to bed early and am usually asleep by 9.30 p.m.

The super-moon is an event that happens about every 14 months; it is so called because the moon appears larger and brighter than normal due to the fact that its orbit is closer to earth than usual.

A few years ago I was returning home from a fund-raising event and I saw such a moon. It was fall and I thought it must be the harvest moon. I had never heard of a super-moon at that time.

It was so amazing to see this extremely large and bright moon in the sky that it was hard to take my eyes off it even though I was driving a car.

Even though I did not see the super-moon spectacle last night I am enjoying the fast-paced occupation of Mother Nature. After a couple of days of rain followed by a couple of days of warm sunshine the wild flowers along with the cultivated plants are growing apace.

The wild trout lilies, so called because of their speckled leaves, along with the trillium are growing and blooming in abundance. In the garden many plants are putting up their green leaves and the daffodil blossoms are a vibrant yellow side by side with the orange/yellow of the tulips.

Life is re-surging in the suitable weather and it makes me feel renewed in my own life.
