The Lord of the Rings
5/12/2007 11:58:02 PM

A viewed obsevation from a classic sight of humanization.
What a gorgeous essence of writing, Jill!

I haven't read the articles, Doc, 'Return of the King' is on, need I say more, it's a commercial, or three.

Oh, well, what the hell, I must declare 'Lord of the Rings' rules totally over 'The Matrix'! And Shakespeare has nothing on Tolkien! Why? The almost unseen details brought to his world of Middle Earth far out cede Matrix. What has been is a known, what is to come, uncertain. The comfort of historic heroic outcomes brings the soul closer to itself, Sci-Fi, my amour, incites undeveloped thoughts of heavy weight. Change brings change/chaos.

'The Matrix' is one of many possible futures; 'The Lord of the Rings' is lived Man's past, repeatedly. In the end, I guess, both mean the same.

Do you think Tolkien actually 'lived' his imagination? I do. Sometimes, I envy him, at others, I feel it's good to be a mother the night before Mother's Day.

Oh, one last thought, or two, throughout this masterpiece of a movie/novel/creation, there are no sunglasses shading anyone's eyes. We learn more of who we are to help us become who we are to be.

Cinematically, it is a superior movie, special effects, supreme, content within image, so human as to hurt, to understand, to be every everyone in the scenes, maybe not at the same time, but gathering more truths with every viewing.

There was one dismissed issue I thought strange, at the end, this 'time-around'. The women and children in Gondor, why were they on the streets when the enemy catapults flew, and, why were people observing from balconies? They must have had interior rooms for protection.

And, how did the ‘evilers’ feed all those orcs!? Not with flesh, there wasn't a big enough ‘population’ on Middle Earth to sustain such a maybe-not-carnivore army. They came out of muck, I'm thinking 'blood boils', from the sickened places of earth where they were born, not flesh, liquid, sucked up, not unlike ants, being quickened along the cafeteria line like robots, a sip at a time enough, because, blood-drunk is energy for days of effort.

It also shows a ‘successful future’, a big uncertain of many outcomes, in middle and throughout, with eons passing, one we all wish could be rendered, here, now. It combines physical, spiritual, material, mythical, intellectual, poetic, visionary, compassionate, mathematical, engineered, costumed, angled, hued, songed, sighted and accomplishment-being.

Thanks, Jill, for the passed-on inspiration/flammability!

Erin
