well, this has been constructive for me, i have been spending almost a month now creating and finessing my new website and have been haveing a ball using my creative skills into creating my world, a world where i can share my words with everyone in a relaxed and pleasurable place, my little hideaway. it has also been a great way for me to learn how to put music on and try to balance the music and the poems so they sorta blend as you read, or at lease fit in together.
of course yesterday i lost five hours as they shut off my electricity, i imagine for some repair work as our whole area here was affected. it really made one realize just how dependant we have become on electricity. my computer was off, my stove was off, my refridgerator was off, my freezer was off, no lights, couldnt even do any catch up ironing, even my phone was somewhat out of commission, at least for incoming calls, plus my heater was off since it has an electric starter, which doesnt make sense for a gas furnace, it did get a bit chilly after the third hour, even my microwave was off. do you realize how much we eat that requires some cooking. good thing i have sandwich fixins and some hardboiled eggs, but i tried to keep my visits to the refridgerator down to the bare minimum since i had no idea how long this was going to last. to make matters worse, they were putting a new patch on my roof to keep it from leaking water and the poor guys had to do it manually since their compressor was electric. hmmm, too bad i dont have a fireplace to keep me warm. well, i cant complain now, the electric is back on, as you can tell, im here, and my roof is fixed and i did get alot of things accomplished that didnt require the usage of electric that i had been putting off. i am glad that i still us the old fashioned way of opening a can or my cat would have really been up the creek.
so another day has passed, im still alive and now you have another blog from me to read. i hear my bed calling me since it is now 10:30 and those flannel sheets and plenty of blankets does sound tantalizing. so maybe i'd better call this quits now and bid everyone good-night till tomorrow. say good night mary, good night mary.
