Dear Tinka Could you please let me know what your name "Tinka" means for you? By accident I saw your name. I thought it was an invention of "MonkyQueen" (= my wife), the name of our bigger rat terrier - her smaller sister's name is "Mahli". So I climbed into my books and found out that "Tinka" is the Russian name of endearment for "Katinka" = "Katharina" from the ancient Greek "kathara" = "the Pure". Your writing sure stirs my heart! Wow...what does my name "Tinka" means to me....what a question...well that is actually my nickname since I was a baby...I was very tiny.....only weight 3 3/4 pounds at birth and could sleep in a size 8 shoebox...and my uncle called me "Tinktinky" a little kind of birdie...and as the years gone by and I became a young girl it kinda change to Tinka...and I am stuck with it.
So it has no connection to my actual name...{My Grandmothers name} which I hate...so I prefer to be called Tinka...and I use it as my writersname aswell...because I am proud to put my name on my work...than some funny writersname!
Now you need to tell me more about yourself and Why the interest in my name......and how did you came across my name...you made me curious..lol!!

Thank you so much for answering so quickly.
Your story is most interesting! So totally by accident you carry the pet-name of your name-sake Katharina (II), the Great, Tzara (Rus.Empress) 1729-96. She made Imperial Russia to a major power. I don't think anybody dared to call her by her pet-name anymore, after she had become debutante. That would have been lese-majesty...(Majestaets-Beleidigung)
I really thought Margaret had invented this name "Tinka" on the spur of the moment when we got our two rat terrier puppies. As I had written before, the smaller puppy was named "Mali" (speak: Maahli) also on the spur of the moment. Margaret said she heard that it meant "Angel" in Suaheli.
However, thanks to finding your name by accident in AuthorsDen.com, I went into my onomastic books ... to discover that both names have "official" meanings and have been in use for centuries. "Mali", and also "Mala", are pet-names for "Amalia", which is the short version of "Amalberga"; meaning in "Middle High German" = amal = refering to the Amelungen, the East-Gothic royal family, and = berga = meaning "protection", "refugue". In English, the most common names are "Emily" and "Emmy".
This may have bored you to yawns! However, it is one of my passions. "Onomastics ... is a fascinating journey through the wonderland of history, etymology, linguistics and folklore." (B.C. Kaganoff). It is also a part of the book I'm working on: "Messages Hidden In Your Name" (Onomastics and Gematria)
So, Tinka, doesn't it mean something wonderfull to be known as "the Pure"?
However, you need to inteprete what "the Pure" means to you!
Perhaps, "the pure love of nature"?
