I've Got a Date! 10/10/2003 12:24:30 PM
Yes, I have got a date, with a young surgeon. Well he's probably in his 40's but he's younger than me! This young surgeon has designs on my knees! He is going to give me a brand new right knee very shortly. I have been on the waiting list for almost a year and have finally received my admission date, Sunday 19th October, the surgery will most likely be on the morning of the 20th. Eventually I have to have the left one done too, but the right one has no cartilege left between the joint, it creaks, crunches and groans as I walk, it actually makes an audible noise, and it is very painful.
Our Vicar says he is going to annoint me with oil on the Sunday morning, 'WD40' - said he with a twinkle in his eye, I think my knee is a bit beyond that now!
I am hoping to do some reading and writing while I am a captive patient, maybe get some of my novel down, I have been neglecting it, mainly due to a little anxiety. Hopefully it will help to take my mind off things. I just hope I get my new specs in time, a fine time to find out my left eye is on the blink, well, deteriorated a little. They reckon it takes 10 days to make up new varifocals and I only want one new lense!
Anyway, I hope when this young fellow has fixed me up, I might be able to take to the dance floor again, I've always fancied Line Dancing and we often have Barn Dances, that I just have to sit and watch at the moment.
