Apparently, there are a large number of weapons (like rocket-propelled grenades, guns and explosives) lying around or hidden somewhere in Iraq, and Baathist loyalists are using them to assassinate U.S. soldiers.

 

There is a need to get rid of these weapons. Once Iraq is cleared of such weapons, the situation will improve, provided that no extraneous material support for the Baathists flows into the country.

 

Anyway, their leader Saddam Hussein has been reduced to a couple of audio tapes full of statics -- not a sign of effective leadership. History shows that no insurgent movement can be sustained effectively for long without effective leadership and extraneous material support.

 

If Saddam Hussein is capable of providing any credible leadership and really wants to prove he's still alive, he should have produced clear video-tapes with indications of knowledge of current events. He has failed to do so in the past three months. The atmospherics on the audio tapes may be an attempt to hide something -- or an attempt to fool the public into believing he's alive.

 

Don't you know that Senators are in the investigation business? That's what they are elected to do under American democracy. Either you investigate somebody, or somebody will investigate you. Simple as that. Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy may have been smart in this sense.

 

Right now, Senate Democrats want to investigate the Bush administration on the Saddam Hussein uranium purchase claim in order to create negative media publicity for the president. Let's see if some 21st-century McCarthy will investigate some Democrat for treason or something. That's how politics is played.

 

The main reason that your economic thesis is ignored by Western government policy-makers, I guess, may very well be that they have yet to acquire the necessary training to comprehend your logic. Not everybody is as quick as I am in picking up training from you -- ha, ha, ha! Have a nice day.
