Everyone who reads me here in the Authors Den knows of me as a poet.  I joke that the reason that I'm a poet is that I don't have the attention span to be a novelist, and prefer the challenge of conveying a story in fewer words.

That said, and as I once chided my mentor when the subject came up, just because I don't normally enjoy writing short stories, it's not because I don't know how.  (Of course, those of you reading the few that I might post here could think differently...)  Anyway, I have written two shorts that are both based on one of my favorite past times, which is computer games.  "A Day in the Life of a Sim" is self-explanatory; the other short is "Being the Hero," which is actually non-fiction based on recurring dreams I get after playing fantasy role-playing games.
