Yesterday, I got a call from an ex-colleague.
"I just can't believe it," she said. "I have the most wonderful surprise. I've just been promoted!"
My friend has always been a hard worker, cool, I'd say type 'C', which I've always wished I am. She's intelligent and smart, but now nearing her golden years. So, it was quite unexpected as she thought that job advancement had somehow passed her by.
Well, it just proves the wisdom that one author wrote:
"When our hopes break, let our patience hold."
