Remember ALL the fathers today! It's true I miss my Dad. He passed away in 1997. I sure wish I could wish him Happy Father's Day today.
I miss Mom, too, of course, but I had more time with her. Dad left us too soon. While he'd want me to remember him, he wouldn't want me to be sad. I believe if he could speak to me today, he'd advise me to make this a good father's day for my husband. After all, he's a father, too, and he's still with me.
Good advice, Dad. It just so happens I married a guy who measures up to my dad, and that's saying a lot. My guy is gentle yet strong when he needs to be, thoughtful, patient, and full of fun. He's amazing in the things he can do. An avid reader, he's full of interesting information and a wonderful conversationalist, as was Dad.
Nobody enjoyed a good belly laugh as my father, but my hubby comes close. He's very intelligent but never condescending. He's tolerant, open-minded, and up for new ideas, as was Dad.
I must be the luckiest gal in the world! Happy Father's Day, sweetie.
