When you were pushing me away
He was embracing me tightly
When you were calling me out of my name
He was complimenting me
When you wouldn't look me in the eye
He had me his locked gaze
While your lips dripped with negativity
His were as sweet as honey
When you wouldn't sleep in the same bed
he pulled me close and kept me near
While you were making me cry
He was making me smile
While you were telling me "go to hell"
He waited patiently to take me to heaven
Where you caused pain
he created pleasure
While you were telling me that I don't know how to make a man happy
He was telling me that whatever makes me happy makes him happy.
When you threw me away like yesterday's trash
He picked me up, dusted me off and loved me like I was the most precious person in the world
