Cable channels full of rhetoric about this celeb's or politician's latest tragic mistake, or triumph, though the latter seems less newsworthy to those that decide such things. Stop and think. We are quickly running out of time to make choices, so while we struggle to survive, others decide for us. That sucks, but what can we do about it before it is too late, or should we even care as long we have our little piece of the pie? What can we do anyway?
It won’t matter in a thousand years, or even ten years for that matter who is right or wrong, if the planet is made uninhabitable for the masses. Some of us suspect that we are headed in that direction with a global initiative designed to extract as much from the planet as fast as it will give it, and not give a thing back in return. Eventually demand will exceed supply, and we will fight and destroy and kill to survive. Hmm, sounds like the way we have always done things. So what separates us from ancient man, technology and a few million Internet pages, a few million books, and a couple hundred thousand documentaries to argue about. Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Regardless of how we arrive at our present state, if we don’t join forces and collaborate as species united for our long term survival, then the powers that be, religious, corporate, governmental, etc. will write us out of the equation. Maybe then the planet could be rid of the worst parasite, man. We do not seem to have learned much in thousands of years of recorded history, because we still rape, burn and pillage at every turn. The theme song to Billy Jack keeps going through my head. Go ahead and stone me, that’s just my opinion, but if you do not like it, so what? Me and my opinions are probably only pixels on a screen to you anyhow.
