What are we giving thanks for anyway??? 11/22/2011 6:57:59 PM
Setting aside for the moment the great food, family fellowship, and of course FOOTBALL! Setting aside for the moment the great food, family fellowship, and of course FOOTBALL! We are giving thanks for who we are. Americans! Thanks to our forefathers for bringing forth this wonderful and free Nation we live in. Thanks to our Military and all of the Veterans past and present who have fought and died to keep us free. Thanks that to date we have won every war and conflict we have ever engaged in, including Vietnam. We did NOT lose that one, I was there. We were pulled from the field by politicians, even though we never lost a battle, not one! We are giving thanks that our freedoms still exist. Though they are under constant assault. Yes we do have myriads of internal problems,both real and political. We are Americans! We Adapt, Overcome and Improvise. We will overcome the present dillema. Thanksgiving is a day for us to remember and reflect on what we have achieved. Giving thanks in the sure certainty that as long as that Star Spangled Banner Yet Waves Over The Land of the Free. Our Nation Shall Not Perish From This Earth. Is that not worth giving thanks for? Remember that we are the only Nation that has a "Thanksgiving Day" per say! I say God Bless America, and God Bless our Troops. And I say Thanks!
