Pearl Harbor Remembrance and Reflections 12/6/2012 2:55:22 PM
Today I recieved E-mails from the Legion and other Military Organizations which I belong to reminding me that tomorrow is Pearl Harbor Day. Sitting here in my office a while ago thinking about that and other days of remembrance we now "Celebrate?" What is it exactly that we should do? Of course I Honor the Memory of our fallen Service Members,I accord them great Honor and Respect! I am retired Army,I served for well over twenty years.
I wish to quote for you the first line of the US Military Code Of Conduct. "I am an American Fighting Man,I serve in the Forces which Guard Our Country,and Protect Our Way Of Life. I am prepared to give my life in their Defense".
My heart swells with pride in memory of them,just as it does when our flag goes by in a parade! I am still willing to defend this nation "Any Where,Any Time" without hesitation.
But, is that enough? I can only hope that those who have made the "Ultimate Sacrifice" are looking down from the "Fiddlers Green" (old Cavalry expression) on those of us still here,and I Pray that we find favor in their eyes. God Bless America
