Another Day in Paradice 11/27/2008 10:51:02 PM
Yes it's spelled correctly...life is a gamble Hi ya'll...been awhile since I have be on but I take some of you with each day wherever I go.
Well, it's another day here in paradice and the betting action is hot and heavy.Just like life to change courses on me, but if you know me or have read me then you know it is something I expect,NAY,count on.Shoot if life didn't throw me curve balls I wouldn't be the great batter that I am. Oh yes, life molds you into what she needs you to be...well just ask the dinosaurs. For new readers, or in cases you forgotten...I am not a professional writer, nor do I claim to be as such.Shoot,I can bearly spell and never mind grammer that was in english class, which unfortunately, always had after lunch in high school and at that time in my life anything taught after 30 minutes ofokin' weed in the parking lot did not get a fair chance to influence, let alone shape and mold any pulitzer prize winning notions. Yep, English class was an...."Present"...class and that was minimal at best. I said all that to say all this.....You get what you read and if you don't like DON'T read it.And for those who say"ramble on"...I fully intend to.That's the trouble with a free society they let6 just anyone in....lol
I write today to speak to the wonderful friends that I have made since I first dared to add myself, and this wordy narrative of the gamble that is my life,to authorsden.com.
It is Thanksgiving today and I am here to give thanks. I called my beloved friend Bonnie today to wish her and Jim a Happy Thanksgiving...I'd call you others too but I don't know your numbers...Everytime I talk to her I feel so uplifted and loved. Then, after I hang up, I cry a little and thank God that she is who she is and in my life. Because even though she does not personally know me, I know that she is my friend and I am loved. And in my life, knowing I am loved by anyone is more treasured than silver or gold.Ahhh, rambling again...Today Bonnie reminded me that I have other friends here and that I should really stop in and say hi...HI...LoL..for those that I "follow" I see your new works come on each day and sneak in and read and think of you everyday...For those I don't follow or have never met...well, what can I say...I'd read you if I knew you...but I do hope to meet you and give you something to influence you world and take something from you to change mine....Awwwww, now I get it....Writers-that's what they do!Now that old saying "pen mightier than the sword" is a little clearer. Isn't it?OK, back to necessities...some of you know, from our Bonnie, that I am having some health problems. Last Monday, Nov.24th(my oldest sons 27th birthday) I went to the hospital and had surgery to remove a tumor in the lymph in my neck.I have had some promblems off and on since last Thanksgiving but nothing seemed serious. The doc said it is metastatic squamos cell carcenoma. They had alittle trouble because it was around my left carotid and jugular and the swelling made it difficult to get a trachae tube down me, but 3 and 1/2 hourslater it was gone. He did biopsy's in several spots to find the source of the cancer but all were negative. Good in some ways...at least it isn't all over the place, Bad in others...hit and miss time now. I am waiting for a call back from an oncologists so when can start radiation and chemo therapy.Doc believes it is somewhere from my neck up due to the location of the growth and the type of cells involved. So they gonna zap what little brain I got left and see if it gets it all. Like I need to lose anymore grey matter.I am gonna have a nice new battle wound to brag about. The incisiion on my neck is about six inches long. My girl said," oh baby, you're gonna have a scar.." Lol, I love scars. They are battle wounds, medals of struggles that I have survived, and I fully intend to fight a battle now.I had decided, over the last few years of struggle and growth, that I was not ready to lie down and die after all and that I could receive as well as give something of worth to this ....this enigma that we call life. Now, being Randy, that set me up for more of "paradice"and here it is. I have tried to kill myself in the past...3 times I have been revived to gamble again.I had decided that I would live life and live it as I believed right for me and stop trying to live it like any and everyone else thought I should. And I was beginning to be comfortable...awww there it is...first it's too hot so I adapt, then too cold so I change, but comfortable?????I am beginning to love it. If my life suddenly got easy I would worry I was dead and didn't know it.So now after years of wanting to "go home" I had decided I wanted to live a few more years. BAM...cancer...and I know from this I shall grow even more in some area of my life that needs just this condition at just this time with just the outcome that it will have, no matter what that outcome is,and I am ready, even eager for it because I know that it is just what I need. I know that God has his hand in my life and will take this struggle and make me more of the person, the man that He has designed and desired me to be.Am I scared? Yeah. Will I let that fear rule me? No....I will gain from this and I will become a more complete person at the end of this episode. Please keep me in your prayers as I will surely need them
