and never give thanks to a true poet . that would be insulting the ways . the ways … sometimes not for the world . necessarily not far from the madding crowd ...
now why should one write a poem ? this is a question to be answered , and not meant to be answered . why to write a poem ? to achieve immortality ? to become popular ? to serve human kind ? why ?
writing poetry seems physically easy . it does not demand spending money , only spending time will suffice . and it’s a great idea writing a poem when one has nothing else to do . or when someone is experiencing romantic love .
but that is foolish . we all know . when someone has nothing else to do , he/she can masturbate , and can enjoy the private moment . that would be wiser .
why a poem ?
so , there is a difference between masturbation and thinking oneself a poet --- an important poet .
to write poetry one needs an urge --- much stronger than sex . one is alone , and not thinking of sex or money or future or regretful past --- seems amazing . at the same time one is using all those , or more .
I say everyone is a poet in heart . a heart – full of poetic tendency --- we all have . everyone , who does not care for poetry , has only contempt for poets --- is a poet . a busy corporate- person , a murderer , a disgusted teacher , a cold-blooded housewife --- they all could make a poet who would be listened by us . a goethe , a shakespeare , a rabindranath tagore --- and why not ?
just like a sleeping volcano .
to write poetry one has to write … lines . no talent , no genius .
a poet can not be talented . a genius can never make a good poet . a genius does not know how to long for doing something . a genius does not know to wish .
there is no genius in the realm of poetry . it is no sports , no game .
and no success . a true poet is never successful . and here failure is the other face of success . who cares for success here then ?
you start writing once , and there is no end . this is an endless journey . the journey … will you call it Sisyfus’s stone ? that’s your choice . but a time comes when the stone become Sisyphus , and the journey becomes the poet .
