Excerpt from Chapter 5

Home away from home was just down the corner.  It was convenient and close.  This soon became her place to meet all kinds – the cowboy in all maybe, wisping away the country air, or just the down-under type, whom a person may stray upon but almost definitely would need to ignore.  Jo constantly went out.  She kept wondering what would happen next in her journey as she frequented her home away from home.

Excerpt from Chapter 2

Without hesitation, all the kids joined in with her in setting it up the tree.  It was a Scotch Pine and had very sharp needles.  It took almost all night but they all finished the tree and stood back looking up at with covered admiration.  It was beautiful in all, with dangling balls of all color, highlighting tinsel, and powerful lights that covered every little single area – and forgetting the fact that it took 400 lights – it was still beautiful.  Jo felt accomplished.  This was the first time that the kids and her actually went all out during Christmas and it felt good.
