I read some very good articles about LULU VS CREATSPACE!!!

CreateSpace appears to save over 50% out of pocket costs to authors.

They are affiliated with Amazon.com too, and of course connect your book to market there.

I have also read that authors have made more money with CS in quantity of actual sales generated

than the sales generated from their lulu accounts.

I myself love this hobby. Should I call this a hobby? Writing Hobbyist...yes surely…If writing could be my full time position to earn me a living I would be in 7^th heaven. To be nabbed up by any big wig publisher…oh we all know how that goes..but for now…pleasingly I am thrilled to have my poetic expressionisms in POD book form. This is so much better than all my notebook journals.

But aside from not being an actual career writing professional, though I adore creating books, and book covers; there are some tid bit monies to be made.  I am not talkin Chump Change either!! My avenue of sales I personally generate myself locally. I am really getting into this flea market sales too. What really makes my heart smile is getting the books out there in people’s hands, but to also cover the printing costs. I am not into large crowds so local events (like the farmers markets) are perfect.

…so here comes CS!! I read that for example an authors Per Book costing $11.65 (approx) with lulu will cost merely $5.00 with CS!! WOW!! What a savings this is!! Also the quality of LULU is identical with CS!!

I also like this Per Book price savings because to buy with local area printers you have to buy bulks to get equivalent savings. But this is nice since you can save on shipping by picking up yourself.

And the S&H charges are also said to be less expensive than LULU. Also CS offers free ISBN too just like LULU. You can also use your own ISBN(s) you purchase from Bowker.  Depending how many books you will market you can buy package deals at Bowker for your  ISBN(s). So the Writing Hobbyist in us do have costs, but it is so much fun for the love of writing…no matter where you are at in your writing skills. There is a plethora of learning tools on line to make everyone’s desire to publish a book their reality.

In case anyone wondered about my book prices at LULU, if you look at Evolution of Soul (PB)

You will see the cost is $22.51, this is the cost after I took lulu’s “FREE” ISBN which no longer offers “FREE” global distributions!! The cost of this book to purchase on line prior to adding the Free ISBN was under $12.00!! But I added the ISBN thinking I would have on line global marketing for free! Now LULU charges $75.00 (approx.) And lulu would not accept me into the AD book program because I am already published with lulu…ok…so I did what AD suggested…same game…

So Hello CREATSPACE!!! Every Hobbyist needs supplies, but there is no sense spending more to get less.

There is also no sense to give everything to LULU such as “Whose your publisher?” …when they are not the publisher but rather the printing presses. Creatspace does not claim to be the publisher for any POD Authoress/Authors or Poetess/Poets…

Well this is just a rough draft of my own experience. I will let you all know when I get my feet wet if the switch is worth it…but I think it is…till then…
