Last week I published my first ever Paranormal Romance, When You Come Back to Me Again. It turned out to be a short novel, or if you will, a chapter book. It's less than 100 standard 8.5 x 11 size pages, double spaced. This wasn't the only surprise I encountered during my e-book publishing process.

My story, although fictionalized, is based on an actual event. It is also a continuation of my first novel, Who Says You Can't Go Home?, so I had a rough idea of the story I wanted to tell. Because part of it took place in Salem, Mass. I decided it would be somewhat scary. With that in mind, I created the cover before I'd even typed one word of the actual manuscript. 

As I finished my manuscript I realized something, it wasn't scary at all. There are ghosts in it, but they're not scary. Thee is a twist in my book, but the spirit is one the main character is familiar with. Why would she be scared to see someone she knows and loves, even if they are dead? In my mind she wouldn't be.

I have been asked if it is anything like any of the movies or books in the Twilight series. I have not seen any of those movies or read any of those books, so I can't answer that for certain. Even though I happen to realize the Paranormal Romance genre is hot right now, and I have read a lot of books in the genre for research I've never intentionally copied anyone else's style. It just so happens that style is more romantic than horror. 

My e-book, When You Come Back to Me Again, is currently available on Amazon Kindle. It will soon be released on Barnes & Noble's Nook, and released in traditional book format by Christmas.
