Are You A Movie Crier? 3/12/2013 10:21:18 AM

I stand here before you and openly admit to being a habitual movie crier. In my defense, I get it from my mother. What is worse is thepost cry we would sharethe following morning after rehashing an emotional scene over a cup of coffee and donuts...lots of donuts.
A movie that could reduce us to tears even years later would have to be, A Walk To Remember. Heck, if I ever needed to produce tears on demand, all I have to do is recall the scene where Landon shows up on his father's doorstep to thank him for paying for the private home care for Jamie. Just replaying that scene in my head is enough to destroy my sinuses for a week.
Mind you, it isn't always sadness that triggered the tears of my mother and I. Take, for example, the movie The Rookie. It was a simple plot. A man considered too old for sports, tries out for Major League Baseball. Even during the movie itself, Mom and I were fine. Later in the car, we discussed the scene when Dennis Quaid receives the call that he has made it to the major leagues, and then shares the news with his young son, his most ardent fan. Mom and I start bawling in the car and have to wait to compose ourselves before we can put the vehicle into drive.
This spontaneous crying at movies goes back to a very young age. I watched a movie (who knows what it was) where a German Shepherd gets lost and finally finds his way back home. I sat on the living room floor wailing my heart out, and my parents were like, "What? Did you hurt yourself?" To which I respond, "Bwaaaaah, the doggie came back. bwahhh" Yes. I was pathetic even then. :)
Are you a movie crier? Is it always the sad scenes that trigger you?
