Today, there are dozens of organizations practicing quality maintenance and improvement under different names and with varied approaches. There are, however, three pioneers of Total Quality Management on whose thesis and concepts we depend on today. They are W. Edwards Deming, Joseph M. Juran and Philip B. Crosby. Corporations such as AT&T, Chrysler, Dow Chemical, Ford, General Motors, IBM and Xerox originally based their quality systems on the philosophies delivered by these three innovators.
