I was born out of wedlock and raised by my maternal grandparents
BOOK PROPOSAL ABSTRACT TITLE: The Life of Sir Johnny Mor: An Exceptional Illegitimate Child BACKGROUND I am an illegitimate child because I was I was adopted from childhood by my maternal grandparents. They are all of blessed memories but my biological parents are still alive. My biological mother was involved in one of the most contentious and popular landmark marital cases in the history of Lebang village in Cameroon. She was married to a prince of His Royal Majesty the Fon of Fontem of the Fontem Dynasty in Lebialem Division, Cameroon, West Africa. She lived with him for one year and decided not to marry him any longer. She moved out and returned to her village. Within a very short she met and fell in love with a very young, vibrant and promising entrepreneur. Within a very short time my mother became pregnant on me. When the news of the pregnancy reached the former husband he was enraged and infuriated. He went to the market Square, stood at the "legendary tree" and declared that nobody will marry her and that he will use witchcraft to destroy anyone who dares. My biological father became very scared of his life and ended his relationship with my mother. My mother went back to village and stayed there with my maternal grandparents till I was born. My biological father came ad saw me and gave a towel but never came back. The former husband kept threatening to destroy any suitors who wanted to marry my mother with witchcraft and everyone became very scared. My grandfather took the matter to the Palace of His Royal Majesty the fon of Fontem at Ema Azi Palace. The ex-husband refused to honor any invitation to attend any meeting and refused to take back the dowry he had given on my mother. The case dragged on for a very long time. At the age of one year my mother who was no longer marriageable in the village eloped with a boyfriend to Mbonge, a different region in Cameroon called Ndian. So I grew up basically with my maternal grandparents whose name I bear, my grandmother and my grand uncle the Chief of the village. I was told that the witchcraft that my mother's ex-husband did to threaten people affected me because he had said that I will not be born and that my feutus die in my mother womb. I was born a very sick baby, a mere vegetable and fainted from when I was born for more than 12 hours. I was bed-ridden for the first three years of my life. The story goes that I was declared dead in many instances before getting up and crying. At one point Reverend Father John The Road, a British Missionary from the Mill Hill Missionary Society in the United kingdom was called to come and anoint me with the "last oil" because they did not believe that I will be alive the next day. It was a tradition in the area for Traditional Doctors to invite a priest to come and anoint people whose were deemed dead under all circumstances. In 1958 when I was born, there were no hospitals or health centers. So traditional medicine was very popular and decisions by Traditional Doctors were believable and final. So I was baptized at the age of one year by Father John The Road who anointed me gave me the Christian name "John" after his own name. At one moment in the village my nickname was "John The Road" because of the relationship with Reverend Father John The Road. Because of all these threats and confusion by my mother's ex-husband I did not really see or know my biological mother for the first 10 years of my life. I just knew my grandparents as my parents. I saw my biological father for the first time in 1977 at he age of 19 when he came to visit me in Seat of wisdom College. My adoptive parents who were my legal parents are of blessed memory. My biological parents are alive and I am in touch with them. My biological was the mayor the of village for more than 25 year, because a successful entrepreneur and was crowned as a notable and traditional ruler by His Royal Majesty the Fon of Fontem in Lebialem Division, Cameroon. While in Seat of Wisdom College, I was nicknamed "Sir Johnny Mor" because of my knowledge of British history and the achievement of the British General Sir John Mor. 'Sir Johnny Mor" is now a household name among the Cameroonian and African Communities. I arrived the USA in April 1990 on a scholarship as an Exchange Student with the Council of international Programs in Cleveland, Ohio. I am married with two girls- Nkeng Mor and Muyang Mor (14 and 12)popularly known as the "Mor Sisters".
