Tell Russia to Release Wallenberg Papers! 11/2/2013 8:49:14 AM
The Kremlin finally owned up to the massacre in the Katyn forest so not solve Wallenberg mystery? My father Andor Szentivanyi who passed away eight years ago stood side by side Raoul Wallenberg saving Hungarian Jews from certain death at German concentration camps.
Wallenberg was a Swedish diplomat {although he graduated from The University of Michigan School of Architecture} that saved nearly a hundred thousand Hungarian Jews by distributing Swedish passports and then disappeared into the Soviet Gulag.
His heroism inspired too numerous books to mention and a TV movie with Richard Chamberlin. Several nations including the United States have issued stamps in his honor.
Everybody knows that Wallenberg was abducted by Soviet forces in 1944 but nobody knows why or exactly where or when he died. Some people say he is still alive in the Soviet gulag although thats very unlikeley.
I have read Kati Martin's book about Wallenberg and numerous articles but nothing satisfies my thirst for knowledge. I want to know more.
Now is the time to force the Russians hand. The Russians are getting savaged by bad press every day. Between Russian billionaires and Snowden and repression of homosexuals they are desperate for good publicity.
As we approach the 2014 Winter Olympics in Solchi, Russia the Kremlin should be forced to come clean about what happend with Raoul Wallenberg.
